The annual meeting of the shareholders of Barclays Bank is coming up tpwards the end of the month, and there are moves to vote against some of the bonuses received – including that of chief executive Bob Diamond – by Pensions and Investors Research Consultants.
Part of what they claim is that Mr Diamond’s renumeration last year was close to £12,000,000.
Although they do have some big instituational shareholders on their side, it is thought unlikely that they will be able to get a big enough share of the vote to win the day.
